Who: Police Officers and/or first responders injured and disabled in the line of duty.
What: Utility (electric, gas, water, sewer and/or trash bills) and/or financial assistance (mortgage/rent, car note) for a period of no less than 3 months up to a maximum of 1 year depending upon the need. Should there be a need beyond 1 year, the board will decide during its next scheduled board meeting if the officer or other public servant still meets the criteria surrounding assistance.
When: Decisions will be made during the regularly scheduled board meeting regarding the officers who will be awarded assistance and for what.
How: Utility bills and/or other financial assistance will be paid directly on the officer’s and/or other first responders’ behalf to the corresponding agency.
Who: Police officers and/or first responders killed in the line of duty family member (wife and/or husband).
What: Utility (electric, gas, water, sewer and/or trash bills) and/or financial assistance (mortgage/rent, car note) for a period of no less than 3 months up to a maximum of 1 year depending upon the need. Should there be a need beyond 1 year, the board will decide during its next scheduled board meeting if the officer still meets the criteria surrounding assistance.

John’s Heart, a program of John Kevin’s Voice, Inc., provides financial assistance to police officers and first responders injured or disabled in the line of duty, as well as to the families of those who have been killed in service. Assistance is available for utilities (electric, gas, water, sewer, and/or trash bills) and other financial obligations such as mortgage, rent, or car payments. Aid is provided for a period of 3 months, up to a maximum of 1 year. Additional support beyond this timeframe will be evaluated by the board during its next scheduled meeting.
